1968 was a year that changed the world. The end of the American dream with the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr and Bobby Kennedy, the loss of a Prime Minster as Harold Holt was officially declared missing, and of course a simultaneous movement of rebellion and revolt in countries throughout the world. In celebration, November 7th of 2008 saw the opening of Innovators 4: 1968 at the Linden

Contemporary Arts Centre in St Kilda, Victoria. A multi arts survey of Western Australia's leading contemporary art practioners, the show presented a broad range of interpretations of the theme 1968. Being known historically as "The Year of The Barricades", the theme of revolution was a natural fit for us here at ericaamerica, and we took the opportunity to really open the doors to ericaamerica world. Creating an installation, entitled The Watchers, entirely in sepia (the photos that accompany this article have not been doctored - they are full colour images of the installation itself) gives the impression you are entering the shady centre of revolution in ericaamerica world, through the frame of an old sepia photograph. The ericaamerica "Watchers" monitor the movement of revolution around the globe from their secret war room, during a time of great political upheaval.

In this secret war room every piece, from ornate painted vases to the wooden furniture, maps and observational equipment was hand made -from scratch- specifically for the installation by the designers here at ericaamerica.
