Deform was the first ever commercial collection from ericaamerica following their winning of the Australian Mercedes Start Up Competition in 2001.

A richly textured collection of knits, fine wool suiting fabrics and innovative, reconstructed panelling, like it's name implies the collection explored the unusual side of human anatomy and deformity of shape, including Chinese foot binding practices, surgical incisions mirrored by hand embroidery and stitching. The shaping, re-shaping of the patterns created deformities of the garments themselves.

Featuring unusual combinations of screen printing, and intricate detail work against a backdrop of slender cuts with an emphasis on masculine silhouettes Deform set the scene for a label rapidly establishing a reputation for a new approach to menswear.
